Learn why it is important to review eligibility rules, custom data, and flags during your yearly rollover/new year prep process.
Why should I review this? What am I likely to change?
Your Rules, Custom Data Sources, and Flags are likely to change from year to year as the policies and procedures for your organization are updated. Rules and custom data are especially important to review since these can be intrinsically tied to your application process.
All of these items can be found by going to Settings > Custom Data.
Rules
Rules can be used to determine who can apply to what schools and programs. These should be reviewed for accuracy! This is important because only one rule can be attached to a program at a time. If a rule is missing important logic criteria, it should be updated! This is especially true if one set of programs follows Rule 1 but another set of programs follows Rule 2.
Custom Data Sources
Custom Data Sources are used within form processes to ensure clean and consistent data is collected across applications. Review the sources that are used to ensure they are capturing the appropriate data!
Flags
Flags are used to indicate when a submitted form process may need further review by an admin. Flags do not show to parents and updating them will apply flags retroactively, so this step is a lower priority but should not be missed! Flags are set up using the rules engine and should be reviewed to ensure existing flags are using the correct fields and logic and that no required flags are missing.
