Learn how to add the Sibling SIS ID Lookup function in your forms.
When using the Siblings Attending field type in a form, you now have the option of enabling a Sibling Lookup using the Sibling's SIS ID. This ensures that any information that already exists in the system for the sibling will be autofilled for the family.
When Sibling SIS ID Lookup is enabled, the setting to Ask Sibling SIS ID (display the field to guardians) is auto-selected.
Once enabled, the Sibling SIS ID Lookup may be set as Required or Not Required.
When the Sibling SIS ID lookup IS required, 4 fields will display for guardians to complete:
- Sibling SIS ID, First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, and a “Student Lookup” button.
- These fields are used in the match logic to locate the Sibling data.
- Match Found: Once data is provided in the required fields and the Student Lookup button clicked, the fields for Sibling Grade and Sibling School will appear (if enabled).
- The fields for Sibling SIS ID, Sibling First Name, Sibling Last Name, and Sibling DOB will be autofilled and set as non-editable (read-only).
- The Sibling Grade field will be autofilled and non-editable if a grade is stored in the system.
- If no Sibling Grade exists in the system, the field will be editable for guardians to enter one.
- The Sibling School field will be editable.
- Match Not Found: Once data is provided in the required fields and the Student Lookup button clicked, if there is no student located in the system matching the data points provided, an alert is displayed. The guardian can then edit the Sibling fields and try to look up the Sibling again.
When the Sibling lookup IS NOT required, an alert is displayed to recommend that guardians use the lookup for best results. Guardians will still be able to manually add sibling information if they choose to not use the lookup.
