What setting drives the Assigned/Seats Available count for the Offered List?
The cutoff number that was set for the most recent lottery pool run informs the counts displayed above the offered list.
The cutoff number assigned in Settings > Manage Lotteries > Manage Cutoff Numbers tells the system how many seats you would like to fill in the lottery for the grade level of the selected program.
Example:
- Cutoff Number = 7 seats to fill with new students
- Current = 3 seats accepted to date
- Available = 4 seats is the difference between Cutoff and Current = the remaining number of seats to be filled
Assigned seats = the number of seats that have been offered and accepted. The assigned seats number can be less than or more than the seats available because there may be fewer applicants than seats available OR admins have the ability to overseat the offered list as needed.
Available seats = the number of seats available that are remaining to be filled.
When is the Assigned/Seats Available display updated?
The cutoff number that was saved in Settings > Manage Lotteries > Manage Cutoff Numbers at the time of the most recent lottery pool will inform the counts that will be displayed.
- A new lottery pool must be run in order to trigger the lottery list to update the new Assigned/Seats Available numbers. Review this Help Article to learn how to update your cutoff numbers post lottery.
- If the Bulk Offer or the Adjustment Placement (for a single student) actions are taken, the Assigned/Seats Available display will still reflect the cutoff number used in the most recent lottery pool.
