Learn how the system handles applications placed on a lottery list and later marked as ineligible
When an application is marked as ineligible after being included in a lottery run, the system will not automatically remove the application from the lottery list. This scenario explains why an ineligible application may exist on a lottery list.
How to correct this?
- If the ineligible application is on the Offered list, we recommended that you Decline the lottery placement by clicking into the Application and changing the Lottery Status field to Declined
- If the ineligible application is on the Waiting list, we recommend that you Decline the lottery placement by clicking into the Application and changing the Lottery Status field to Declined
- We do not recommend deleting the application, as that would remove the student's application data from the database, as if it were never submitted
Important Note: If no action is taken to remove the ineligible application and a subsequent merged lottery is run, the ineligible application will be included in the new lottery run and will remain on the lottery list.
