Learn how the internal lottery setting "Always keep lottery lists grouped by lottery design" works in Enroll.
"Always keep lottery lists grouped by lottery design" is an internal setting that SchoolMint staff enable/disable for you upon site creation to meet your lottery process needs.
Please contact Technical Support or your Customer Experience representative if you are unsure if this setting is on/off in your site, or if you would like to discuss using this setting with your lottery process.
When ENABLED, the setting "Always keep lottery lists grouped by lottery design" automatically keeps post-lottery lists grouped in sub-lottery (priority) order.
- Enable this setting:
- if you use a Sibling Applying priority in your lottery design for dynamic sibling movements
- if you use Auto-add for post-lottery applications and want to honor priorities for placement within the sub-lottery that corresponds with the highest priority on the application
- if you want to honor a priority that is added to/removed from an application already on the lottery list
When DISABLED, post-lottery eligible applications will be auto-added to the bottom of the lottery list.
- Disable this setting:
- if you use Auto-add for post-lottery applications and want applications to be added to the end of the lottery list in the order you mark them as eligible
- if you do not use Auto-add for post lottery applications, but instead you run multiple lottery rounds to place newly submitted applications on the lottery list, the setting "Always keep lottery lists grouped by lottery design" does NOT impact placement during a lottery run (the Merge setting is used for this).
This Help Article provides further detail on expected behavior (and exceptions) when using this internal lottery setting in combination with the post-lottery setting: Auto-add eligible applications to lottery list after initial lottery is run.
