Managing post-lottery applications when you do not use a Waiting List

Learn how to fill open seats on your Offered list when your lottery process does not create a waiting list.

If your initial lottery was run with the Save Waiting List setting OFF, then you will only have an Offered List available to manage post-lottery.

When a pending offer is declined (manually by a family or via auto-decline), you will have open seats on your Offered List to be filled.

There are two post-lottery actions available to fill seats on the Offered List when no Waiting List exists:

1. Run a second lottery pool (with no waiting list created) to fill the open seats
2. Enable post-lottery setting: "Auto-add eligible applications to lottery list after initial lottery is run" and only mark the number of applications as eligible that will fill the open seats
   • If an applications are already marked as eligible, opening up the application (edit) and re-saving it will trigger the auto-add functionality to move the eligible application into the open seat on the offered list

Note: The waiting list feature: "Auto-roll up applications from waiting list to offered list (when another application on offered list is declined)" relies on the existence of a waiting list and cannot be used when a waiting list does not exist.
