How do I change the guardian account a student is connected to?
If the student doesn’t have a guardian account attached to their student record or application, or the wrong guardian account is connected to the student, you can add, change, and/or remove the appropriate guardian account(s) from either the student record or a student’s individual application.
From Student Record
As an admin, you have the ability to add/remove/change guardians that are attached to a student account from the student record by selecting the Students module and searching for the specific student. You will then select the Profile button for that student.
In the student profile, at the bottom of the main profile settings, you will see a listing of guardians that are attached to the student (if no guardians are attached, no names will be listed).
Your next step will be to select the Add/Manage link which will open a pop-up (shown below) where you are able to search for guardians by guardian number, guardian first name, and/or guardian last name. Once you search for and find the appropriate guardian(s), you can add the guardian to the student record by selecting the Linked checkbox to the right of each guardian account. Guardians are able to be removed from the student record by deselecting the Linked checkbox.
Once all guardians have been added and/or removed as needed, the Save Guardians button will need to be selected to save the changes to the student’s guardians.
From Application
As an admin, you can add/remove/change guardians that are attached to the student application by selecting the Applications module and searching for the specific application. You will then select the Edit (pencil icon) button for that student.
Once in the edit area of the application, you will see a listing of guardians that are attached to the student (if no guardians are attached, no names will be listed).
You will select the Add/Manage link which will open a pop-up (shown below) where you are able to search for guardians by guardian number, guardian first name, and/or guardian last name. Once you search for and find the appropriate guardian(s), you are able to add the guardian to the student record by selecting the Linked checkbox to the right of each guardian account. Guardians are able to be removed from the student record by deselecting the Linked checkbox.
Once all guardians have been added and/or removed as needed, the Save Guardians button will need to be selected to save the changes to the student’s guardians.
