Locating the School Code and School ID
There are two numbers associated with Schools in Enroll: the School Code and the School ID.
Both numbers can be easily found in an individual school's settings area:
As shown in the screenshot above, you can find the School ID in the URL and the School Code in the Primary settings.
What is a School Code?
The School Code is entered in the Primary settings either manually or through an import. This code is the code that is used by your individual organization to identify the school. This code is typically going to be used across all systems that are in use including Enroll, your SIS, any informational databases, and so on.
The School Code is a unique identifier that can be edited/updated and used across platforms to ensure the same school is matched appropriately. This number should be used for imports and exports and anything else that requires matching a school in the Enroll database to the same school in a non-Enroll database.
What is a School ID?
The School ID is given to the school upon its creation in the Enroll platform. Once created, this ID cannot be changed. It is used by the platform itself to ensure that links, forms, settings, etc. all remain connected even if the School Code is changed.
For example, if a student submits a registration form for ABC Elementary, the School ID will be used in the database to ensure that the registration is always for ABC Elementary even if the School Code is changed from 100 to 101.
