What is a Program Category?
A Program Category allows you to group your program offerings by type (e.g. Magnet, Dual Language, IB, etc.). If you have only one program, you can give the program category the same name.
How are Program Categories used?
A Program Category gives you the option of setting consistent Application Start/End dates for all programs in the category. You can also turn on Ranking for all programs in a category and set limits on how many programs from this category a family may apply to.
Configure a Program Category
Navigate to Settings > Schools/Programs > Manage Program Categories
Use the pencil icon to modify an existing program category. Use the "Add New Category" button to create a new one.
Enter the Category Name.
Optional Settings:
- "Category Choice Limit" will limit the number of programs a student can apply to within a particular category. (e.g., if set to 1, a student can only apply to one program within a category.)
- "Limit Per School" will set the maximum number of programs a student can apply to within a category at a particular school. (e.g., If set to 1 a student can apply to one program in a category at school A, but can also apply to a program in the same category at school B.)
- Application start and end dates can be set for all programs in this category.
- Allow applications to be ranked by selecting this option.
