What's included in this article?
How is a School used in Enroll?
In Enroll, a school refers to the physical location where students attend. The school is where students will register and re-register. Registration forms are attached to the school.
- Applications, on the other hand, are attached to the program. A student may apply to several programs at a school, but only register at one school.
Managing Schools
Located under Settings > Schools/Programs > Manage Schools, you can add a new school or edit information for an existing school.
Information for a school is organized across multiple tabs:
- Primary
- School Eligibility
- Registration Settings
- Feeder Schools
Primary tab: The school will be listed as part of the school level and school group once all required fields are saved on the primary tab.
- School Name
- School Group
- School Code
- School Level
- Address
Optional fields:
- Abbreviation
- Sync Connection to import/export data
- Content snippet field: allows you to create a school description (up to 400 characters) to be displayed to guardians during the application and registration processes
School Eligibility tab: Eligibility and boundary information for the school are located on this tab. Eligibility refers to the criteria that a student must meet to be permitted to register at the school.
- Select the eligibility rule/restriction to be attached to this school.
- Eligibility rules/restrictions are set up in Settings > Custom Data > Eligibility Rules/Restrictions. Learn how to configure a registration or re-registration eligibility rule in this help article.
- Select the shape file to be used the boundary specific to the school (if needed).

Registration Settings tab:
- Registration Grades: displays all Grades that are enabled in your site. The grades selected will be available to families for registration or re-registration.
- Registration Dates: Each school can use the System Default dates or input School Specific dates to manage a school on a separate timeline.
- System Default Registration and Re-registration Dates are set at the School Level (Settings > Schools/Programs > School Levels).
- Registration Form: the form that students must submit to register or re-register at the school. Registration/Re-registration forms are configured in Settings > Forms > Registration & Re-registration.
- Eligibility Status: if enabled, the Guardian Dashboard will display the Registration eligibility status to families (Approved, Denied, In Processing)
- Notifications Sent to Guardians: select the system-default template (or create your own) that you would like the system to send to families upon submitting the Registration and Re-registration form.
- Content for email/text templates are customized under Settings > Content/Letters > Email/Text Templates > filter by type: Registration/Re-registration
Feeder Schools tab:
If desired, a feeder school(s) can be selected on this tab to identify which school(s) will feed re-registering students into the school you are editing.
A feeder path condition is available in the rule engine when creating an eligibility rule for re-registration.
