What is a School Group?
A school group is the highest level of organization in Enroll. A school group can be the name of a district, a charter management organization, or simply the name of a single school site.
The school group is used as a layer of organization in Enroll when filtering/reporting, and for organizing SIS connections using Sync Service (different SIS connections can be tied to different school groups).
Create a School Group
Navigate to Settings (gear icon) > Schools/Programs > Manage School Groups
- Edit an existing school group by clicking Edit (pencil icon)
- Delete a school group by selecting the trash can icon
- Create a new school group by clicking “+ Add a School Group”
Group Information
- Enter the group name. (e.g., school district name, single-site school name, etc.)
- Enter a number for the group code (e.g., 1 or your district ID in your SIS)
Boundary Settings
- If a District Boundary type shape file has been imported under Settings > Boundaries, select the shape file that will be used to outline the entire district, not each individual school in the district. Click here to learn about boundary types.
Re-registration Rule
- If the Registration/Re-registration module is enabled, a rule can be selected that tells the system what criteria a student must meet to re-register in a school. A very common re-registration rule is one that will only allow students to re-register in the school that is selected as their current school.
- A re-registration rule must be created before it can be selected. Create a rule by going to Settings > Custom Data > Eligibility Rules/Restrictions. Click here to learn how.
Texas Education Agency (TEA)
- For Texas charter organizations that are required to report waiting list information to TEA, enabling this setting will display a TEA tab under School Settings for all schools assigned to this school group. Click here to learn more about TEA functionality available in Enroll.
